Welcome & Call to Order

Review and approval of September 2023 minutes:

  • Motion to approve: David Henderson, seconded by Dan Kent

Safety and Reunification at LHS:

  • Assistant Principal Paul Wagner presented the Safety Plan for Logan High, and explained all schools use the same verbiage and signage for all drills to facilitate law enforcement personnel. He explained what each of the different drills were called and the procedures that go with each. Principal Wagner also reviewed where parents and students will be reunited during an evacuation emergency.

Review:

  • Principal Guymon reviewed the data gathered for AP, Concurrent and BTech classes at LHS. Most courses maintain numbers year to year or have increased. Principal Guymon will have updated numbers for the council at a later date.

Discussion:Bylaws in the event of a tie for Council Seats during an election:

  • Chair Karlee Fryer researched and found there was no precedent for what to do in the event of a tie, it was decided a document will be written up and voted on at the next meeting.

Questions/Concerns from Council Members:

  • One parent asked about students earning an Associates degree while attending LHS. Dana Harris, Counseling Secretary, explained the courses students would need to take at USU do not always line up.
