Welcome & Call to Order

Review and approval of September 2022 Minutes

  • Motion to approve: Adrienne Hall, seconded by Yenny Lopez

Homeroom Report:

  • Principal Guymon explained the purpose of Homeroom: Mentoring teacher checking in with every student weekly to identify what their citizenship and academic grades are for each class, set goals and help monitor and celebrate daily steps to reach goals.

Report: School State Report Card

  • Principal Guymon shared how to find the school report card, go to school.utah.gov, data gateway, school report card. Logan High received a “B” grade overall for the 2021-2022 school year.
  • Our ACT composite score went up as did Aspire+ test scores.

Review: Learning Academy

  • Principal Guymon explained the reasoning behind the Learning Academy program. Our Instructional Coaches Tashina Calverley and Gordon Garrett work on the District Flagship Plan instructional items including; Positive Behavior Intervention Systems (PBIS), active student engagement, writing, etc.
  • It is a requirement for 1st and 2 nd year teachers, after that it is voluntary.
  • There are 52 teachers enrolled in Learning Academy this year.
  • Two of the teachers participating, Juan Caballero and Peter Duran, commented about how helpful learning academy is.
  • They appreciate the teacher collaboration, sharing ideas and teaching techniques.

Report: UHSAA Realignment

  • Principal Guymon reported the State is in the process of realignment that will begin the 2022-2023 school year.
