Technical education opportunities. BTech is a technical college here in Logan that provides an opportunity for advanced career training. The BTech programs feature the latest technology in each area of study with an emphasis on training to be ready to enter the job market. The programs are fast-paced and challenging. These programs are generally recommended for students who have completed basic courses at the high school and are ready to move into more advanced courses – during junior and senior years. Summer courses are also available and count towards high school credits.
BTech participation requires students to be responsible. Parents and students should understand that these courses are college level and require responsibility and autonomy from students. Attendance and progress concerns will generally need to be addressed directly with BTech faculty and staff. Parents must also submit 504 plans and IEPs to BTech to apply for accommodations.
Attendance at BTech is mandatory. If students need to miss their BTech class, parents must excuse the absence directly with BTech student services.
Transportation is provided. Logan High provides a bus to and from BTech every class period to provide maximum flexibility and access for students. If students have their own car, and permission from their parents, they may drive themselves to BTech and back. Students attending BTech must follow the BTech schedule and bus schedule, including on assembly days. CLICK HERE FOR THE BUS SCHEDULE.
Students can be dropped from BTech. Students who do not adhere to BTech’s attendance and other policies may be dropped from their program. Important things to note:
Registering at BTech. Once students have requested a BTech course through Logan High, they must also be registered for the course through BTech’s online registration system. LHS counselors will do this early August, on the first day of BTech registration, for each student that has a BTech course on their Aspire schedule. Any changes after this point will require the student to work with their counselor to ensure they are properly registered or withdrawn from courses in both the BTech and LHS systems. In coordination with your counselor, you may also register yourself at this link: BTech registration.
