Review and Approval March 2021 Minutes

Updated Budget

  • Funds allocated for the Y21 budget are being used according to the SIP, no amendments needed at this time. School Improvement Plan for Y22 was submitted to Land Trust.

Principal Topics

  • Graduation will be held on Thursday, May 27th, weather permitting, Friday, May 29thas a make-up day.
  • Plans not yet finalized for where and when.
  • Principal Auld asked committee for feedback on holding it in the afternoon versus evening, consensus was evening would be preferred.

Questions/Concerns from Council Members:

  • Council member asked about the A/B/C day schedule,
    • Principal Auld stated the C day schedule helped this year with intervention but going forward intervention will be incorporated into each day, next year will be an A/B schedule.
  • Council member asked about the process for choosing Valedictorian and Salutatorian
    • Vice Principal Markworth discussed the Board approved rubric that has been in place for the past two years.
    • It consists of student GPA, SAT and ACT scores, AP classes, Concurrent Enrollment, and rigor of classes and is aligned with other valley and state high schools.
    • Going forward there will be one Valedictorian and two Salutatorians.
  • Elections for the 2021-2022 Community Council will be in May, there are 6 seats up for election
