Principal Topics: Review Intervention Goals/Vision

  • The Goal of Intervention is to have more students mastering the essential learning of eachcourse and to focus on 80% or more of students mastering then concept with first instructions and to use all 90 minutes of each class period.
  • (Teach bell to bell) The Intervention Specialist position has not been filled yet.

Review Grading Policy

  • Principal Guymon asked Council members to come back next meeting with specify questions about the Grading Policy.

Questions/Concerns from Council Members

  • Is Grizz Academy a credit-earning course?
    • Yes, freshmen earn .5 elective credit for Grizz Academy.
  • What is the plan if COVID numbers require school closure?
    • Principal Guymon referred members to the District website for more details, but stated LHS would go to the “Test to Stay” requirement and emphasized that prevention is most critical at this point.
  • Will the District be holding vaccination clinics?
    • Not at this time.
  • Can the Council be given data from teachers about the effectiveness of Learning Academy?
    • Yes, it will be provided at the next meeting.
